In recent years, astronomical discoveries and discussions have challenged our traditional understanding of the zodiac.

The constellations Ophiuchus and Cetus have emerged as potential additions to the zodiac, leading to interesting possibilities for how we might redefine this ancient system.

The traditional zodiac consists of twelve (12) constellations that lie along the ecliptic – the apparent path of the Sun across the sky throughout the year. These familiar signs have been used for millennia in both astronomy and astrology, creating a system that divides the year into twelve roughly equal periods.

In this blog post, we’re exploring the impact of Ophiuchus and Cetus: 3 cases of what the final zodiac dates table would look like if those 2 signs were included.

Let’s see 🙂

The Case of Ophiuchus

Ophiuchus, also known as the Serpent Bearer, is a constellation that has gained attention as a potential 13th zodiac sign. This constellation actually spends more time along the ecliptic than Scorpius, yet it was historically excluded from the traditional zodiac.

The Complete Revolution: Including Both Ophiuchus and Cetus

If we were to do that, we would create a 14-sign zodiac system that more accurately reflects the actual astronomical positions of constellations along the ecliptic. This would result in the most dramatic reorganization of zodiac dates, as shown below.
